    WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

    The Director, Organizational Optimization reports directly to the VP, Organizational Strategy & Projects, and is responsible for leading and supporting strategic change management and business optimization initiatives across CapMetro. This role requires a proactive leader with extensive experience in business intelligence, operational analytics, process improvement, solution development, and change management. The Organizational Optimization team will manage a portfolio of diverse and cross-functional initiatives and drive CapMetro’s success by ensuring operational excellence and alignment with strategic objectives. #LI-Hybrid 

     

    WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

    • Develop and Deliver Optimization Roadmap: Develop and implement plans to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across the organization. Drive long-term initiatives that align with overall business objectives. 
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders to identify key areas for enhancement. Build strong relationships across the organization to drive consensus and commitment to operational excellence.  
    • Operational Expertise: Utilize expertise in processes, systems, and strategies to identify and recommend significant improvements. Stay updated on best practices and emerging trends to inform decision-making. 
    • Process Optimization: Oversee the implementation of processes, procedures, and system modifications to achieve excellence. Ensure consistency, effectiveness, and scalability. 
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate effective communication and coordination among various departments. Promote a collaborative and transparent work environment. 
    • Communication and Reporting: Effectively communicate in verbal and written forms to present strategic opportunities, define business cases, and develop strategic roadmaps that clearly articulate the journey toward improved process or business goals.  Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project status, risks, and outcomes. 
    • Data & Performance Analysis: Utilize data-driven insights to evaluate opportunities, make informed decisions, monitor progress, and measure the effectiveness of optimization activities. Regularly communicate findings and insights to stakeholders and collaborate with teams to enhance operational performance.   
    • Champion Change and Innovation: Act as a change agent and influence stakeholders on best practices, technology trends, etc. to deliver optimal outcomes.  Drive innovation in operational processes by exploring and implementing best practices. Encourage a forward-thinking approach to operational effectiveness. 
    • Support Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Safety Management Systems (SMS) process by following safety and security policies, considering safety in every action and reporting safety and security concerns. 
    • Perform other duties as required and/or assigned in support of the CapMetro Strategic Plan. 
    •  RESPONSIBILITIES - SUPERVISOR AND/OR LEADERSHIP EXERCISED: Directs and manages department personnel by planning, scheduling, delegating and overseeing employee work assignments, authorizing, coordinating, and scheduling work with vendors and consultants, conducting personnel actions, including, hiring and interviewing, and overseeing hiring, training, work assignments, and performance evaluations. 

     

    WHAT YOU BRING

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, public administration, management, or related field  
    • Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in business process optimization, continuous improvement, and/or change management, with at least two (2) years in a leadership role 
    • Strong financial, reporting, and data analytics acumen; operational in nature but with technical knowledge of systems and concepts and can liaise between data and operations 
    • Proven track record of establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals at various levels of the organization, including senior executives, internal/external stakeholders, and business partners 
    • Experience effectively managing and pivoting between competing priorities 
    • Experience leading change, communicating effectively, and overcoming resistance 
    • Experience developing collaborative solutions and building consensus among diverse stakeholders
