Hear about their business journey, from lessons learned to professional advice from experienced CEOs. This year we are proud to announce Amy Simmons of Amy’s Ice Cream and Phil’s Ice House as our featured speaker. Lunch is included and questions are welcome. Now’s your chance to think big picture about the future of your small business and pick the brains of our community’s best and brightest. About the Speaker

Amy Simmons opened Amy’s Ice Creams in 1984 in Austin. Based on the philosophy of “making people’s day”, Amy’s Ice Creams has grown to 15 stores in three cities. The success of Amy’s is known worldwide from featured articles in Inc., Southern Living, Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, People, Fast Company, and features on Food Network, ABC and multiple reference university textbooks. In 2003, Simmons founded Choose Austin First, an alliance of locally owned businesses dedicated to fostering and promoting the city’s unique lifestyle and sense of community.  7.11.2017 PeopleSpring Austin
Join us on July 11th for PeopleSpring Austin, a FREE one-day networking, leadership, and women’s luncheon event designed to help you meet fellow female entrepreneurs. Together we can forge new relationships, learn about financing opportunities, and learn from successful women small business owners. Join us to hear from the incredible Laurie Loew of Give Realty as she shares her small business experience and what is means to be a social entrepreneur. With new connections and new skills you can plant the seed, grow your network, and blossom your business.

About the Speaker

Coming out of a divorce and financial security in 2007, Laurie decided to create Give Realty, a real estate brokerage that donates 25% of its commissions to the nonprofit of the buyer’s or seller’s choice in the buyer’s or seller’s name. To date, Give Realty has donated over $635,000 to more than 155 nonprofits of their client’s choice. Give Realty’s aim is to be a stepping stone on a long path of philanthropy for its clients and their families. Since opening Give Realty in July 2008, the company had been all-consuming for Laurie until March 2015, when she was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. Laurie never imagined herself as a cancer survivor over a year later. While Laurie notes that creating Give Realty was the bravest and most rewarding thing she’s done in her life, she now dedicates her time to what she sees as the most important thing in life – deepen her relationship with herself, her family, her friends and her community.
